Fire Cupping
Fire Cupping involves using heat to create a vacuum of pressure inside of a glass cup, which is placed on skin over Acupoints. Cupping therapy in modern times is sometimes performed with a suction device, for a similar result.
Cupping produces "Sha", a temporary discoloration of the skin that was cupped. Sha may be colored red, brown, purple, or pink. The quality and color of the Sha markings indicate the type of pathology in the Meridian or Organ system that was being targeted.
Cupping is often used to as a means of pain relief, detoxification, clearing the lungs or connective tissue of waste products, allergy prevention, + an immune boosting therapy.
Cups made be moved around, known as sliding cupping therapy, or left stationary for 10 mins.
